DataServices World Fall 2008
The DataServices World conference in Silicon Valley runs November 20, 2008. It is co-located with SOAWorld, Clouds Computing Conference and Expo and Virtualization Conference at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. Speaking about services modeling will be Dr. Michael Carey, an ACM Fellow voted one of the 50 most influential computer scientists. Other speakers include Geoff Brown (m2mi), Peter Coffee (saleforce.com), Dr. Stefanos Damianakis (Netrics), Dr. Carlo Innocenti (DataDirect), Susan Malaika (IBM), Peter Vroom (Adobe Systems), Eric Samson (DataDirect),and Tom Tague (Thomson Reuters).
7th International Semantic Web Conference
The International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC) ran 26-30 October 2008 at the Kongresszentrum (Congress Center) in Karlsruhe, Germany. Invited speakers included Stefan Decker (DERI), John Giannandrea (Metaweb Technologies) and Ramesh Jain (UC Irvine). Tom Heath, Michael Hausenblas, Chris Bizer and Richard Cyganiak presented a half-day tutorial on "How to Publish Linked Data on the Web". ISWC is a major international forum where visionary and state-of-the-art research of all aspects of the Semantic Web are presented.
LinkedData Planet Spring 2008
Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee and distinguished speakers from academia and industry highlighted the content-rich program of the LinkedData Planet conference. It ran June 17-18, 2008 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
DataServices World Spring 2008
ACM Fellow Dr. Michael Carey and the lead architects for Enterprise Java and Microsoft Data Programmability initiatives spoke at the DataServices World conference, which ran concurrently with SOAWorld Spring 2008.
The DataServices World conference focus is the data services layer, databases and data access. The program includes presentations about architectures and solutions for data access and data integration from heterogeneous data sources including SQL tables, geo-coded data, content management systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, data warehouses, and web data.
